Experience

I was born with a Number 2 pencil in my hand and was schetching before I could talk. In high school and college, I painted with pastel and oil.

In the cultural environment of Tyler, Texas I felt like an odd duck, having both an interest in science and art, but found my role models in the lives of Leonardo D'Vinci and Michaelangelo.

I bootlegged design, life drawing, and oil painting courses at the University of Texas in Austin, while majoring in physics, minoring in mathematics (after all, it was the school of Arts & Science!). Then I continued with art courses at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (now known as the Glassell School).

In the early 1960s, I discovered video medium as a creative outlet for both visual and musical expression. And, for the first time, I really became interested in the abstract. I saw the future of digital art and I discovered Rock & Roll!
